Nintendo fans can rejoice in the knowledge that the newest
console offering from the massive game makes, the Wii U, will be under a whole
bunch of Christmas trees at the end of 2012.
Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata told Reuters that the newest
Nintendo console will be available for purchase in time for the end of year
Festive Season.
Further, European and Australian fans who were worried about
a staggered release, which would have seen them getting the hardware after the
rest of the world, need not worry at all. According to Iwata, the Wii U will be
available in Japan, the US, Europe and Australia in time for Christmas.
That spells hope for South African Nintendo fans as well, as
we generally fall into the European release schedule for video games and
related items. But a final date has not been confirmed yet, so while you should
start saving up, you may want to hold off on that letter to Santa for a little
while…
